Our history

“I believe what nurtured our company was the pride of preserving, at all costs, that plot of land that through past generations came from who knows where.“- Mauro Molino

1982 marks the beginning of our story and that of our wines.  After several years dedicated to the study of agronomy and oenology, our father Mauro fulfills a lifelong dream and releases his first label: Barolo Conca.

In the 1990s, the winery consolidates. Mauro, strengthened by his agronomic background and love for the Langhe region, purchases new vineyards in highly favorable locations, such as Berri, on the western slope of La Morra, selecting the best wine-growing areas in terms of soil, exposure and microclimate.

“Dedicating myself entirely to viticulture was the right choice: it has enriched me a lot, it enabled me to gain expertise and knowledge of my vines, perfecting winemaking techniques and creating long-lasting wines, with labels that still carry my name around the world.” – Mauro Molino

With the beginning of the 2000s, after graduating from the Oenological School of Alba, the second generation entered the business, bringing with them a wave of enthusiasm and dynamism. Matteo, the eldest son, joined in 2003 and fully devotes himself to the family vineyards and production, enhancing the identity of each terroir with a more modern and innovative approach, always mindful of the environment and sustainability. 2008 was Martina‘s years: she took charge of the communicative and commercial side, further boosting the company’s image and establishing the name Mauro Molino on the major quality wine markets.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

Our production philosophy stands on four pillars. Aromaticity and elegance, the distinctive peculiarities of all Mauro Molino wines that emerge with every taste. Each sip combines our tradition with the freshness of the present, yielding an aromatic finesse that captivates and an elegance that persists. Consistency in quality, our ongoing commitment to ensuring high standards both in the vineyard and in the cellar, and striving for excellence in every detail, from the service we offer our clients to building strong and long-lasting partnership.

We preserve the terroirs of origin, particularly that of our beloved La Morra. Each vineyard is vinified separately to maintain its own characteristics, through the production of different Barolos, each with a unique profile that reflects the intrinsic identity of its origin. Finally, sustainability, which makes us custodians of the land where we were born and raised and which will welcome future generations. We believe in harmony with nature, through environmentally respectful practices and daily actions focused on well-being.

It’s only through this effort that we can best express our wine and the values passed down to us by our father Mauro.

“Nowadays we are the ones who keep on producing the company’s historical wines with passion, new projects and new winemaking techniques. Our wines are our life. They tell of the places where we live, of what we like to do, of the choices   we make every day in our vineyard and winery: our past, our present and the future on which we have chosen to invest.” – Matteo & Martina Molino
